Nagoya University was established in 1871 and is located at Chikusa-Ku, Nagoya. It was chartered as a university in 1939. It is a Japanese National Research University and was the 7th imperial university in Japan. It was one of the first five designated National universities and was also selected as a top type university of top global university project by the Japanese government. It is Japan's third highest-ranked higher education institution and ranks 84th worldwide.
